Site Description
MGM Cotai is the second property of MGM Resorts International in China. It is a 1,200-room hotel resort on the Cotai Strip in Macau.
Energenz was engaged to continue the successful track record of our team with energy efficiency in site operation and bring these lessons learnt to the design of the new site in Cotai. In addition, the utility provider has imposed restrictions on the peak load the property can draw from the existing electrical grid.
Outcomes
Energenz has been a trusted advisor for MGM China for 4 years. During this time, MGM Macau has won multiple awards such as the Macau Green Hotel award, (and CEM awards 3 years running). Verified cumulative energy reductions to date are 2011 – 12%, 2012 – 20%, 2013 – 25%. The client saw these results as important to include in the new property in order to shave inefficiencies and avoid the capital cost of installation of a new substation.
